- Japanese pottery is the oldest pottery in the world, some pieces dating at 10,000 Bc.
- In the Edo period japan started opening their ports to trade, Japanese artists soon began making pottery exclusively for trade.
- Japanese pottery can be divided into four different types : Earthenware , Stoneware, Pottery, And Porcelain.
-Each of these styles change depending on the region they were made in japan.
- in one generation pottery was almost lost, the popularity of pottery plummeted and no one created any. This happened until Yangi Soetsu showed of the art form across japan.
-Japanese pottery focuses on showing off and draw attention to imperfections.
